Bio

Amy Kapp joined Carnegie Mellon University in 2021 as the Executive Assistant to the Dean for the College of Fine Arts.

She has worked in academia for the past 18 years.  Her role prior to joining CFA was with the University of Pittsburgh as the Department Administrator for Civil and Environmental Engineering where she managed all payroll, human resource and financial operations as well as provided support to 23 faculty.

Amy is an active collaborative pianist and music director. In the Pittsburgh theater scene, she has been involved in multiple productions working with Pittsburgh Musical Theater, the University of Pittsburgh Theater Department and several regional community theaters. She currently serves as a Resident Artist at Pittsburgh Musical Theater and the accompanist for the Chatham University Choir.  She is a Minister of Music and a member of the American Guild of Organists. She has served as an accompanist for the Point Park Conservatory of Performing Arts and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.  Amy has music directed several cabarets, having worked most recently with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, La Ti Do Productions and Mariposa Theater. She has been a featured artist on WQED Sessions with CMU School of Music alumna Chantal Braziel and an accompanist for Aria412.

Amy earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Clarion University.  She went on to earn her Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying and Vocal Coaching with a Minor in Church Organ from East Carolina University. Later she earned her Master of Business Administration from Chatham University.
