Bio

Lieutenant Commander Pratiksha Patel enlisted in the Navy in 2002 as a Disbursing Clerk. While serving at Personnel Support Detachment Washington, DC (PSD, DC) she applied and was accepted into the Seaman-to-Admiral (STA-21) Program. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. During her shore tour at Engineering Assessments Pacific (EAP), she graduated from National University with a Masters in Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance.

At sea, she has served on ships both in Pacific and Atlantic fleets. Her tours include Operations Electronics Officer on USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42) and HARPERS FERRY (LSD 49), Main Propulsion Assistant and Assistant Chief Engineer on USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55), Chief Engineer on USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18), and Operations Officer on USS OAKLAND (LCS 24). Currently she is serving as the SAPR Officer, Culture of Excellence Officer, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for COMNAVRESFOR.

Her personal awards and decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (fourth award), the Battle Efficiency Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal (with one bronze star), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on terrorism Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (third award), the Navy Rifle Qualification Medal (expert), and the Navy Pistol Qualification Medal (expert).
