A Fulfilling First Year: A Look at Four Formative CMIST Courses
For incoming first-year students, the summer is an especially exciting time. Part of this excitement is the opportunity to embark on the course selection process for the first time at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). With a plethora of fantastic options, choosing classes for the fall may initially seem overwhelming. This serves as a tool for students who are interested in exploring political science and international relations courses through Carnegie Mellon Institute of Strategy and Technology (CMIST).

From Declaration to Graduation
Whether they plan to work at the intersection of national security and emerging technologies or to seek careers in foreign policy or law, CMIST students spend their time at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) learning the skills needed to positively impact society. We asked undergraduate students to give us a glimpse into their planning over their four years at CMU, from what went into the decision to declare a major to how their coursework interacts with other opportunities at CMU to influence their career trajectory.
