Halal Meals Available During Ramadan

Jessica Tones

In observance of Ramadan, Iftar meals will be offered daily at Scotty's Market, beginning Friday, February 28 – Saturday, March 29. Scotty's Market will serve a rotating menu of hot entrees including Halal chicken, beef and lamb, as well as and vegetarian options.

Along with the Iftar meal, Scotty's Market has a diverse menu of Heat and Eat Specials located in the fresh produce case at the front of the store. You'll find grab-and-go meals, sides, and desserts which are perfect for late-night dining.  Check out our new Suhoor meals options on Grubhub campus, which can be ordered after 10:30 am.  Iftar and Suhoor meals can be purchased using meal blocks, FLEX, DineXtra, debit/credit or cash.

We are also excited to share that there will be frozen Halal meals available at Stephanie's Market C 24 hours per day.  These meals can be purchased using FLEX, DineXtra, debit/credit card.

The Muslim Student Association (MSA) will be hosting free iftars on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the University Center with halaqas only on Thursdays (45 minutes before iftar)—this is excluding the week of spring break. On a daily basis students can gather in Scotty's Market to break their fast. For questions about MSA events, please email MSA President Aleena Siddiqui ansiddiq@andrew.cmu.edu. Or Vice President Aziza Norkulova anorkulo@andrew.cmu.edu

Certified-Halal meal options are available at several campus dining locations.
