Latest S3 Release Includes Change for Students in SIO

In an effort to ensure that the university has access to the most current and accurate student contact information, especially for use in the event of a local or personal emergency, starting August 1, Student Information Online (SIO) will require new and continuing students to update or confirm their information. Thereafter, students will be required annually to update their information.

Immediately upon logging in to SIO, students will be prompted via three to four brief screens to update or confirm the following by the third week of classes:

  1. Mobile phone number
  2. Off-campus residential address (students living on campus will not see this screen)
  3. Personal email address
  4. Emergency contact information

Students may choose to skip the prompts on the screen; however, if they do not update or confirm their off-campus residential address and emergency contact by September 12, they will be unable to access SIO until doing so. The screen prompts will continue to display until the relevant required information is updated or confirmed.

This modification to SIO is part of the larger S3 MyCommunity project, specifically, to improve and increase student data for the sake of community and personal safety. Project priorities have been established through active campus community engagement and an S3 MyCommunity steering committee that includes academic department staff and advisors, and staff from the Provost's Office, Student Affairs and Enrollment Services.
