Celebration to name the John Wells Directing Program in the School of Drama

Acclaimed writer, producer and director John Wells (A 1979) recently provided a landmark gift for the directing program in the School of Drama. The university will welcome him back to campus this week to honor his generosity and life-long commitment to Carnegie Mellon.

Steiner Speaker Series Inaugural Lecture: Nelle Nugent

David (E 1951) and Sylvia Steiner have endowed a speaker series that will bring leaders in the entertainment and cultural industries to Carnegie Mellon. The inaugural lecture on April 8 features Nelle Nugent, an accomplished Broadway producer (Amadeus, The Life and Times of Nicholas Nickleby, and The Elephant Man).

Philip Chosky Memorial Celebration

The university lost one of its great friends and alumni, Philip Chosky (E 1948), earlier this year. An engineering alumnus with a passion for theater, Chosky embodied the values of Carnegie Mellon. The memorial celebration will be followed by a reception.
