Dear Friend, Each year, the Andrew Carnegie Society offers a number of exciting events and opportunities to further connect its members with each other and the Carnegie Mellon University community worldwide. This year, we're pleased to extend you a special invitation to Truly Tartan: A Celebration of Philanthropy, which will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 5:30-9 pm at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland. As part of CMU's new Cèilidh Weekend (Homecoming, Family Weekend and International Festival), this first-of-its-kind event — a natural expansion of the annual ACS celebration — will connect members of CMU's giving societies with current students, faculty and university leaders. At this event, we also will honor the 2011 Andrew Carnegie Society Recognition Award recipients: Mr. Irving Gruber (E'36) and the late Mrs. Aaronel deRoy Gruber (MM'40).
