Registration for the CMU CS Academy CPCS Exam
This page contains information for high school students who are currently enrolled in the CMU CS Academy College Programming and Computer Science (CPCS) course and are interested in potentially obtaining CMU course credit by enrolling in the CMU-provided exam in May.
Please note that college course credit can only be obtained by CMU CS Academy CPCS participants who enroll in and pass the CMU-provided exam.

Get Started
Step 1: Review the CMU CS Academy CPCS Course Information (PDF)
Step 2: Submit the CMU CS Academy CPCS Petition (PDF)
Complete the petition, including a parent or guardian's signature (if you are a minor).
This petition must be completed in its entirety, even if you have already taken coursework at Carnegie Mellon. When you have completed your petition, email it to non-degree@andrew.cmu.edu.
Your petition must be submitted between Feb. 3 and April 11. Once it has been received, your petition will be reviewed and you will receive a notification that your petition has been approved or denied within approximately two weeks.
Submit Exam Payment
Step 3: Submit Exam Payment
Invoices are generated on the last day of each month, with payment due on the 15th of the following month. When an invoice is ready for viewing on Student Information Online (SIO), an email notification is sent to your Andrew email account. Invoice notifications are also sent to those enrolled in My Plaid Student (MPS). We highly recommend that CMU CS Academy CPCS exam participants grant a parent, family member, or guardian access to My Plaid Student.
Complete Coursework and Exam
Step 4: Take the Exam
CMU CS Academy CPCS exam participants will complete their coursework and take the CMU-supplied and CMU-graded final exam to receive a transcript.
