Bio

Miles Dieffenbach joined the Investment Office of Carnegie Mellon University in 2017 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2024. 

Immediately prior joining the university, Dieffenbach served as an Investment Associate at SunCap Property Group, a real estate private equity firm focused on multi-family and industrial development throughout the United States. Before SunCap, Dieffenbach worked as a Research Analyst for CBRE, a commercial real estate brokerage company. 

Dieffenbach was signed as a priority free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015 as an offensive guard and played in four preseason games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and Minnesota Vikings.  

Dieffenbach earned his B.A. with a double major in advertising & public relations and labor studies & employment relations from The Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, he was a member of the varsity football team from 2010-2014, starting in 27 games as an offensive guard. He was voted Team Captain by his teammates and coaches for the 2014 season and received the Ridge Riley Award for leadership, friendship, and sportsmanship. He was selected to the Academic All-Big Ten Team for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons.
