Quantbot Classroom Naming

On Februrary 29, 2024, Quantbot Technologies, LP and its management team, led in part by MSCF alumnus Ashar Mahboob (Class of ’97), announced its sponsorship of the large classroom at MSCF’s newly constructed New York City location at 88 Pine Street.

To better meet demand for its students, MSCF recently acquired the space in the Financial District on 88 Pine Street. The 12th floor suite features impressive views, ample natural light and modern aesthetic; in addition to new state-of-the-art video conferencing technology and increased collaboration areas. Designed with cohesion in mind between the New York and Pittsburgh locations, MSCF is the sole tenant of the 12th floor.

Just adjacent to Wall Street, students and alumni will engage in mock interviews, experiential panels, presentations and networking to expand their educational and professional prospects. Of central importance to the curricular aspects of the program is 88 Pine Street’s newly christened Quantbot Classroom. The classroom is utilized for a myriad of purposes including special events, classroom instruction for students, special speakers and more. In this way, it is a hub that hosts students, faculty, alumni, and guests alike.  Quantbot made a visible investment in the mission of MSCF through the naming of this essential space.

Quantbot is a global quantitative investment advisor, established in 2009 by a four-principal team following their success in electronic trading at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, with a strong focus on leveraging research findings to answer financial questions. The company manages a multi-billion dollar portfolio and employs a growing team of individuals focused on deploying quantitative methodologies.

Quantbot’s contribution to the MSCF program symbolizes the organization’s belief in higher education and aligns with its broader mission to support society through improved quantitative finance.

"On behalf of the entire MSCF program, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Quantbot for their generous donation towards the establishment of our new large classroom,” says Robert Simon, MSCF Executive Director.  “Their support not only enhances our learning environment but also demonstrates a commitment to advancing education and innovation. We are deeply appreciative of Quantbot's partnership and dedication to empowering future generations of leaders in quantitative finance."
