Shaotong (Lisa) Cao graduated from Smith College in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Statistics and Quantitative Economics. During her undergraduate studies, she excelled in multiple quantitative research internships at Guotai Asset Management and China Merchants Securities, developing robust Python programming, time series data analysis, and alpha generation skills. In academia, Shaotong applied her mathematical modeling and statistical analysis expertise as a research assistant in Smith's Biomathematics and Mathematical & Behavioral Economics Labs. Graduating from a women’s college, Shaotong's commitment to inclusivity was evident as she organized networking events for people of color and spearheaded activities for international students, leveraging her leadership skills to enhance campus diversity. After graduation, she aspires to pursue a career in quantitative research, quantitative trading, and portfolio management.
