Bio

Max is a postdoctoral researcher in the NeuroMechatronics Lab where he is co-advised by Darcy Griffin and Doug Weber. He is generally interested in research at the intersection of rehabilitation and neuroscience, while remaining one (large) step removed from the clinic. Since coming to the Neuroscience Institute, Max has been involved in several collaborative efforts to develop new techniques for non-surgical stimulation of the central nervous system, where he served as a technical lead on the high-density electromyography (HD-EMG) acquisition from non-human primates. His primary research involves simultaneous recordings from linear arrays in motor cortex and motor thalamus, while concurrently recording from HD-EMG over the distal forelimb of non-human primates performing a wrist-centric center out task. Max's hobbies involve maintaining an unofficial NML GitHub and an unofficial NML technical blog.
