In its first year, the Program was called the CMU/PPS Outreach for Mentoring in Science. This name was revised in 1997 because the students work in the capacity of lab group members, rather than as mentees of specific faculty members. The 1995 program included ten PPS high school students from seven schools. Mike Shore has attempted to keep track of their progress since then.
