Molly Doernberg

Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA)

Mentor: Stephen Garoff, Physics

Even though I don't wish to go into science as a career, I think that this is a great opportunity and it's really interesting to work with people on a college/graduate level. The concept of "learn as you go" is interesting.

I am studying the interaction between surfactant solutions and a clean, solid surface (silicon wafer) with respect to the concentration of the surfactant.

Molly's data was recently presented by a very excited Steve Garoff at a Condensed Matter Physics conference, and will be used as part of a graduate thesis.

Molly gets her love letters at mollyd+@andrew.cmu.edu.
