2023 EHRS Curriculum Workshop
Friday, November 3rd, 2023 | 10:00AM - 2:00PM
Danforth Conference Room
2nd Floor, Jared L. Cohon University Center, Carnegie Mellon University
The Environmental Humanities Research Seminar is a joint initiative that connects scholars at the University of Pittsburgh with their counterparts at Carnegie Mellon University. EHRS provides a cross-institutional, interdisciplinary venue where graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty share research with colleagues outside their immediate fields and engage in generous intellectual exchange.
As Environmental Studies programs continue to grow at Pittsburgh universities and beyond, it's important to reflect on student feedback, program objectives, and ways to refine and improve these programs moving forward. The workshop included a panel on Environmental Studies programs at CMU and Pitt with their respective program directors, a focus group with voices from current students and alumni, and a curriculum workshop for faculty and current PhD students to discuss: "How does my syllabus fit into a curriculum?"
