Counseling & Psychological Services (CaPS)

Closed July 4 and 5

If students have a mental health emergency, they can call 412-268-2922 and dial 1 to talk to a clinician. Students can also utilize TimelyCare's Talk Now feature, which is available 24/7 from any web-enabled device, anywhere in the United States. It is accessible to all CMU students on campus and during breaks.

Housing Services

*The Housing Services office will be closed on July 4 and 5, but the Residence on Fifth Service Desk will be staffed by Desk Services Assistants for lock-out services, red carts, or other basic needs from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. as usual. Visit the Residence on Fifth at 4700 Fifth Avenue or call 412-268-1518 for lock-outs or questions.

Summer Housing residents in Forbes Beeler with issues beyond basic lock-outs should contact the Summer Resident Managers in Forbes Beeler.

If you're experiencing and emergency, please call the CMU Police Department (CMUPD) at 412-268-2323. Students with a mental health emergency should call CaPS at 412-268-2922, and dial 1 to be connected to a clinician. 

University Health Services (UHS)

Closed July 4 and 5

When UHS is closed, students have the following options:

  • call our after-hours medical advice line at 412-268-2157;
  • visit a local urgent care center for medical care; 
  • call CMUPD at 412-268-2323 or 911 for emergencies.
