Are You Passport Ready?

Whatever your citizenship, the first step toward any international travel or study experience is making sure you have a passport that is up-to-date and will be valid for the duration of your travels.

Most countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond your planned return date and have enough blank pages for travel. Airlines will not let you board a plane if your passport expires sooner than the country requires or if your passport does not meet these requirements.

Need to Get Your Initial Passport?

If you are a U.S. Citizen and need to get a passport for the first time, the U.S. State Department has all the information you need to get started!

Already Have a Passport?

Before you plan your next adventure, make sure you know when your passport expires! Renewals can sometimes take a few months, so plan ahead!

To renew a passport, you'll apply through your country of citizenship's Embassy or Consulate. For U.S. citizens, that's the U.S. State Department, and all the information you'll need is available on the U.S. State Department website.

Now You're Ready to Plan Your Study Abroad!

Go ahead and set up an appointment to meet with your Study Abroad Advisor or sign up to attend an Information Session. You can also plan to attend the annual Study Abroad Fair on Sept. 17!

Until then, check out the Study Abroad website, talk with your academic advisor about your study abroad goals, and think about what questions you have about studying abroad. We can't wait to meet you and talk more!
