Carnegie Mellon University

The Institutional Accreditation website provides information about the Middle States accreditation standards and Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) processes and reaccreditation reports.

CMU is accredited through a voluntary, peer-review process coordinated by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The aim of the accreditation process is to ensure current and future students and the public that the university is providing a high quality educational experience for students in alignment with our institutional mission.

CMU’s most recent comprehensive review for reaccreditation was carried out in the 2017-2018 academic year, and the MSCHE issued its decision in June 2018. CMU’s next reaccreditation cycle will be in 2026-2027 and details regarding the university’s self-study plan are expected in 2025.
