Outreach

The NSF AI Planning Institute for Data-Driven Discovery in Physics is committed to developing and expanding outreach programs for students of all levels. Our program offerings will grow as we work through the planning phase and beyond. Please see our current offerings below, and check back regularly for new developments!

For College Students

NSF REU in Physics and Artificial Intelligence

Undergraduate students interested in conducting research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and physics should apply for this fully funded, eight-week residential program!

For K-12 Students

Pennsylvania Governer's School for the Sciences (PGSS)

High school students interested in an intensive summer program are encouraged to apply to PGSS, a five-week course in which they take courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science. PGSS takes a special interest in promoting the involvement of under-represented minorities in STEM fields and strongly encourages students from all backgrounds to apply.

The Physics Department additionally hosts a wide variety of physics-related programs for students in this age group.

For Instructors

Teacher Professional Development Program

We want the best young minds to be motivated to pursue careers in physics. You, as high school physics teachers, play the most important part in achieving this and we would like to help provide you with resources that you need.
