Diaz Named New Lecturer in Euphonium

The Carnegie Mellon University School of Music is pleased to welcome Hiram Diaz as the new artist lecturer in euphonium. Diaz joins the faculty of the School after the tragic loss of Lance LaDuke late last semester.

Diaz is an active chamber and symphonic musician and has performed with High Bridge Brass, Washington Symphonic Brass, Dominion Brass Quartet, and the American Tuba Quartet. He has played euphonium in “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band since 2012.

He is a winner of the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference Artist Euphonium Competition and was a featured soloist at Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Diaz has also performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic.
