Inclusive Restrooms
CMU is building restrooms designed with everyone in mind. As we create new campus spaces and renovate old ones, we are adding more single-user restrooms and making our multi-user facilities more accessible with features such as:
Open, wide entrances to promote safety and accessibility.

Fully enclosed stalls to provide privacy and comfort.

Current building code requires us to label multi-user restrooms as "men" or "women," but our updated spaces were designed with future, more-inclusive codes in mind. Carnegie Mellon University is a gender-diverse community. Learn more about how our facilities serve all genders.
