Program and Operations Coordinator

Margo Littell joined Carnegie Mellon University in August 2023 as program and operations coordinator for the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs. In this role, Littell edits newsletters for graduate students and postdocs, designs branded marketing materials, administers graduate student funding processes, and plays a key role in planning large-scale events, including University-Wide New Graduate Student Orientation, Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week and more. 

Prior to this role, Littell supported graduate and undergraduate student writers as a writing consultant at the University of Pittsburgh Writing Center. She also worked as an application reader in Carnegie Mellon’s Office of Undergraduate Admission and as an application processor for Heinz College Admissions. She has extensive experience as a writer and editor, focusing mainly on higher education, a path she began as an editor at an academic publishing company in New York City. Her expertise includes Common App essay editing and professional resume writing.

Littell received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University where she also taught undergraduate composition. She is the author of two award-winning novels, “Each Vagabond by Name” and “The Distance from Four Points,” both published by the University of New Orleans Press.
