University-Wide New Graduate Student Orientation

To welcome new graduate students to the Carnegie Mellon community and help support the transition to graduate study, the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, in partnership with many colleagues across campus, offers University-Wide New Graduate Student Orientation.

Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week

The Office of the Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs and many partners across the Pittsburgh campus hold a variety of events to celebrate CMU's graduate and professional students. 

National Postdoc Appreciation Day

The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs plans a variety of events for National Postdoc Appreciation Day to celebrate CMU postdocs. 

Celebration of Education Awards

The Celebration of Education Awards recognize those who exemplify CMU's standards of excellence in education, including two graduate student awards that recognizes excellence in teaching by graduate student instructors and exemplary service provided by a graduate student to improve the graduate student experience at CMU. Each spring, the CMU community gathers for an award ceremony to honor the awardees for their outstanding contributions.

Graduate students are encouraged to celebrate their peers by submitting a nomination package and attending the award ceremony. For more information about the nomination and selection process, visit the Celebration of Education Awards website.
