Whether you're looking for tools to de-stress this semester or get in the Halloween spirit, we have something for you. Plus, an important update about Tartan Community Day! Tartan Community Day and OIE Closure

On Oct. 28, join the CMU community at Tartan Community Day! In observance of Community Day, the OIE office will be closed the morning of 10/28 and open at 12 p.m. There are no classes, and everyone is encouraged to participate as they are able. It is also a part of CMU's Homecoming WeekendLearn more about the schedule of events.

Wellness Workshops with Comics

On Friday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 6 p.m., check out the How to Create Effective Study Habits workshop. This creative and fun workshop series addresses common challenges of campus life. We will use comics to understand ourselves better and develop effective solutions for our challenges. No artistic skills are necessary. Register here for the event.

Punkin Chunkin

On Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., join Allegheny County Parks and SHARP Robotics from the Sarah Heinz House at Hartwood Acres as they launch pumpkins across the amphitheater field with a full-size trebuchet! Check out the free arts & crafts, games, face painter, balloon art, plus food vendors and drinks (available for those 21+ with valid photo ID). This event is free and open to all! Learn more information about the event.

Haunted Museum After Dark

Celebrate Halloween with a night at the museum! On Friday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 10 p.m., learn about some of the creepiest and most mysterious specimens, enjoy a drink with friends, and show off your costume as you explore the museum! Learn about the history of murder ballads and listen to the acoustic grunge band ilyAIMY. Experience Haunted Pittsburgh's best ghost stories. Learn about cursed minerals and meet Fred the Crystal Skull. Take a flashlight tour of Art of the Diorama to look for creatures that lurk in the shadows. Beverages (alcoholic for those 21+ with valid photo ID, and non-alcoholic) and light snacks will be available for purchase. Costumes cannot include masks, weapons, or weapon-like objects. Tickets should be purchased in advance.
