Multicultural Community Potluck

Food brings us together and showcases our cultures! Join the Center for a Multicultural Community Potluck on Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. You can submit recipes to share and try food from your fellow Tartans' cultures. You can submit recipes by Sept. 25.

Harm Reduction and Recovery Panel

On Thursday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m., join CaPS for a panel conversation on Harm Reduction and Recovery, moderated by Dr. Christine Andrews. This event seeks to explore the spectrum of experiences around substance use and provide tools and resources to help minimize risks when using substances. The panel will also focus on education around the wide variety of recovery resources available to us. Learn more about the event, community resources and registering.

Your Boyfriend May Be Imaginary

Come one, come all to a workshop production featuring juniors in the School of Drama! Beginning Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, you can meet Marci, a 30-something in New York City who has lost her boyfriend. But did she ever really have him? Your Boyfriend May Be Imaginary is a sharp, funny, party-play and you're invited! Tickets are free and available to reserve beginning at 12 p.m. the business day before the performance.

CMU Pirates Day

Let's Go Bucs! On Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1:35 p.m., come out to PNC Park for a baseball game versus the Chicago Bears with all your CMU friends! CMU will be showcasing our talents through the first pitch and national anthem. You can purchase discount tickets in advance.

Hispanic Heritage Night with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds

Soccer in the 'Burgh! On Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m., join the LGSA (Latino/a Graduate Student Association) to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night and watch a soccer match between the Riverhounds and Orange County SC. There will be a live concert from Gavas Beat before the match. Tickets are $11 when purchased through LGSA and include admission to the pre-game concert. Learn more and purchase tickets.

A Midsummer Night's Dream Play

Shakespeare in the Park! From Sept. 23 to 25, you can see Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream like you never have before. The production will call on the powers of magic and love as Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks' continues its 18th year. You can learn more about the event.

Pittsburgh Ren Fest

Huzzah! From Sept. 24 to 25, check out the last weekend of Pittsburgh's Renaissance Festival. Celebrate with master revelers, watch artisans create original works of their ancient craft, and be taken in by the tantalizing aromas of roast turkey legs, steak on a stake, fresh baked goods and much more. You can purchase tickets in advance.

Moonrise Market

Experience the city at night! On Friday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 10 p.m., head to Market Square for a night market featuring over 30 talented local makers, artists, and craftspeople. Pittsburgh Chinese Cultural Festival

On Saturday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., check out the Pittsburgh Chinese Cultural Festival at Mellon Park. This event is a day full of traditional performances and cultural exhibits and features Asian cuisine. This event is free and open to all. Learn more about the event.

Dragon Boat Festival

Pittsburgh's Dragon Boat Festival is back! On Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., head up to North Park Lake for the annual Dragon Boat Festival. Watch as teams compete in a day of racing and fun. Learn more about the event or get involved with the Dragon Boating community.

Scre3nshot: Asian Film Festival

Lights, camera, action! Starting Sept. 28, check out Pittsburgh's only Asian and Asian American film and media festival! This second annual film festival will take place Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, with films from Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the U.S. Screenings will be held on Pitt's campus as well as at the Harris and Tull theaters. Learn more about the event and purchase tickets.
