Hello, Tartans! Campus was quiet this summer without all of you here, and OIE is so glad to have you back. Whether you're settling in for your first semester or returning to the 'Burgh, these Friday Greetings emails are a resource for events happening on campus and in the city each week. Good luck this semester!

As a reminder, classes start Monday, Aug. 29! Be sure to double-check your course schedule in the Student Information System (SIO) and keep an eye out for any changes, updates or cancellations. Need a refresher on campus or here for the first time? Use the interactive campus map to find classroom buildings and the Schedule of Classes Legend webpage to look up building abbreviations. You've got this, Tartans!

Reminder for New and Returning from Leave of Absence Students

Remember to submit the "Mandatory Immigration Check-In for New/Return from Leave Students" e-Form in your MyOIE Portal. This is a required step for check-in and must be completed! If you have any issues, please email OIE at OIE@andrew.cmu.edu.

International Community Connection Hour

Join the CaPS team on Friday, Aug. 26, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., for a weekly connection hour hosted by internationals for internationals! This event is open to all international students, staff, and faculty in the CMU community who want to come together to connect and support each other. Learn more about this virtual event.

CPDC Plaza Party

Want to start the semester off on the right foot and get connected? Join the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) for a Plaza Party on Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This casual get-to-know-you celebration will have free RITA'S ICE, music, info on various CPDC resources and much more! No need to RSVP. Just stop by Legacy Plaza (right outside West Wing, next to the Food Truck) and be prepared for fun and sun - all while learning about the CPDC! Learn more about the Plaza Party.

Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion Open House

Join the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion (The Center) on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. for their fall Open House. Meet The Center's team and Center Ambassadors while enjoying some popcorn treats. Learn more about the Open House and the Center.

Volunteer Fair

Are you interested in volunteering this year? Check out the volunteer fair on Friday, Sep. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Talk with individuals as passionate about civic engagement as you are! Students, faculty, staff and local alumni can connect with more than 50 local, non-profit and campus student organizations that focus on direct service, activism, philanthropy, and community building.
