De Fer Coffee Grand Opening

Curl up with a warm drink! On Friday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., join De Fer Coffee for the Grand Opening Celebration on the 1st Floor of Hunt Library for delicious samples and a chance to enter our gift basket drawing! De Fer Coffee & Tea focuses on unique, sustainably sourced specialty coffees, blended loose teas and simple-yet-tasty house-made food. Gandhi Community Celebration

On Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m., join the Center for the Gandhi Community Celebration. In observance of the International Day of Peace, the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion and the Alliance for Humanitarian Initiatives, Non-violence, and Spiritual Advancement will host a reception and a program. Register in advance.

Dignity in the Digital Age: A Dialogue with Congressmen Ro Khanna and Conor Lamb

On Saturday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m., join Congressman Ro Khanna in dialogue to discuss his new book, "Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work for All of Us," with Congressman Conor Lamb. The event will be held in Hamburg Hall, Room 1214. A reception with light refreshments will follow the discussion. Learn more about the event.

Rock the River Summer Concert Series

Send summer off with a song! On Friday, Sept. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m., check out the Rock the River free concert series. This final event of the series will feature Scott, Rob and Greg of The Clarks. The event is free and open to all. Learn more about the event.

A Taste of Serbia!

Good food and good friends! From Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, check out A Taste of Serbia, a food festival that showcases Serbian culture and food in our community. Whether you are missing the taste of home or want to experience something new, this festival is a great opportunity. Learn more about the event and the food offered.

Squirrel Hill Night Market

On Saturday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 10 p.m., check out the pop-up night market in Squirrel Hill. Inspired by pop-up markets in Asia and around the world, this market is an outdoor street festival that's fun for adults and kids of all ages! These markets feature artists selling handmade wares, local live bands, and food trucks. Learn more about the event.

The Steel City Studio Tour

From Oct. 1 to 2, you're invited to tour ceramic studios across the city on this self-guided tour.While visiting professional ceramic studios, guests will be able to purchase handmade pottery and clay artwork and get a behind-the-scenes look at the ceramic art process. A wide range of techniques and styles will be showcased, from wood-fired to wheel-thrown to hand-built pottery, there is something for everyone’s style. Learn more about the event.
