Changes to Morewood Avenue Traffic Patterns

Those traveling to or around CMU's main campus should note the City of Pittsburgh's new vehicle traffic patterns on Morewood Avenue, effective Oct. 9:
- No left turns from eastbound Fifth Ave. (heading toward East Liberty) onto northbound Morewood Ave. (heading toward Center Ave. and Baum Blvd.)
- No left turns from northbound Morewood Ave. (heading toward Center Ave. and Baum Blvd.) onto westbound Fifth Ave. (heading toward Oakland and the Parkway)
Read more about these changes on the City of Pittsburgh's website. Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) buses are exempt from these restrictions. These changes do not impact CMU's current shuttle routes.
The university continues to work with the City to make the area around Fifth and Morewood safer for pedestrians, bicyclists, and bus and shuttle riders. Updates will be posted to CMU's Transportation website as they become available.
