Communications Project Manager, Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy & Technology

Bio

Carolyn is the Communications Project Manager at the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology (CMIST). In this role, she helps to advance cutting-edge policy on emerging technologies through research and communications efforts. 

Prior to joining CMIST, Carolyn worked in a variety of communications roles in Washington DC including Chief Communications Officer of War on the Rocks and Director of Digital Strategy at FGS Global. She has a proven track record of designing and executing public relations campaigns for diverse organizations, from Fortune 100 companies to foreign ministries and think tanks. 

Carolyn holds a Master's degree from American University in Ethics and Emerging Technologies, where she also served as graduate research assistant to Dr. Audrey Kurth Cronin at the Center for Security, Innovation, and New Technology. She also earned her BA in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. Outside the office, Carolyn enjoys playing tennis, watching Pittsburgh sports and spending time with her husband and 2 dogs.
