CMULead Goes Global

CMULead – Qatar celebrated its first graduating cohort on April 29. The ceremony featured presentations of final projects by the cohort members, followed by a festive graduation celebration.

Building on the success of the CMULead program at Carnegie Mellon's Pittsburgh campus, the initiative has been launched internationally at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. This program, designed to foster leadership skills among staff, mirrors the domestic program in its goals, desired outcomes and nomination criteria.

The Qatar program kicked off in January with two days of in-person introductions and training conducted by Todd Rosignoli and Karen Eck from the Office of Human Resources. Weekly sessions were conducted both virtually and in person. Throughout the eight weeks of training, participants delved into a diverse range of leadership topics, equipping them with valuable knowledge and practical tools that can be applied as their CMU careers progress.

Participants' initial feedback on the program has been positive. We're now incorporating their insights as we plan and adjust for the next iteration.

A big thank you to the Learning and Development team for their contributions to the program's success. Additionally, thanks to those who traveled to Doha and helped strengthen the relationship between the Office of Human Resources and our colleagues in Qatar.
