Carnegie Mellon University

Complete these steps to finalize your enrollment:

Admitted students will have seven days to submit their enrollment reply form and pay their deposit*, which will secure their spot in the program.

*Students admitted into AI Scholars, CS Scholars, EDG:E, and Summer Academy for Math and Science do not pay a deposit.

Approximately one week after the enrollment reply form/deposit (if applicable) have been received, you will receive an email entitled “Action Required: Your Andrew userID Has Been Created” from it-help@cmu.edu. The email will provide instructions on how to receive your Andrew userID, set a password, and enroll in two-factor authentication (2fa) with DUO, Carnegie Mellon’s multi-factor authentication service provider. Please be sure to check your spam folder, in the event the email does not appear in your inbox.

After you create your password and enroll in 2fa, you will have access to the Student Information Online (SIO) where you will be able to verify biographical information and pay any remaining balance (if applicable).

Under the My Info tab on SIO, verify that the Permanent Address, Personal Email, and Mobile Phone information is correct. Additionally, ensure that the information is the student’s rather than that of the parent or guardian. This information is used for our emergency alert system, so it is imperative for the information to be that of the student.

Log-in to SIO in order to pay your account balance. Verify the full program costs (Note: Your paid deposit should be deducted from the program cost). We recommend making this payment through SIO. Navigate to the Finances tab and link a bank account to make payments. Additional payment options information may be found on the Billing site.  If you do not submit your balance in full by May 5, your enrollment will be canceled.

Several days after creating your Andrew password, you will receive an email entitled “[CMU Pre-College] Enrolling in the Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Programs” from pclife@andrew.cmu.edu. The email provides instructions on how to access the student portal. Please check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox.

Preliminary enrollment paperwork will be due 14 days after we receive your Enrollment Reply Form and your enrollment deposit (if applicable). You will receive an email with a link to your preliminary enrollment paperwork found in your student portal after your Pre-College student record has been fully processed. Preliminary enrollment paperwork includes:

• Parent/Guardian Contact Information and Emergency Contacts
• Student Life Information
• Consent to Treat Minors
• General Release
• Authorization to Release Information
• Residential Housing and Dining (if applicable)
• Student Handbook, Code of Conduct, Policies, and Procedures

The deadline for any remaining enrollment materials is May 5.

Visit ID Card Services for instructions. Your ID Card will be used to access your housing, dining, bus transit, Arts Pass, and other campus resources.

Check your CMU email regularly for official university messages and updates from your instructors. We will not communicate with you using your personal email account. You can read your CMU email using a browser or an app on your mobile device.

Pre-College students must follow Carnegie Mellon's immunization and health forms requirements. Requirements are met through HealthConnect, the University Health Services' secure online portal. Enrolled students should select Medical Clearances to complete required immunization records/forms. They can select Messages to contact CMU's UHS staff members.

Please know that incomplete immunization records/forms will delay and may jeopardize your enrollment at Pre-College Programs. Please click here for more information on HealthConnect.
