Bio

Ruth is a medical product development professional with entrepreneurial experience during her graduate studies in Pittsburgh. Her professional experience ranges from pre-seed university spinouts to the largest healthcare organizations, including Johnson & Johnson. Currently, she delivers FDA regulatory strategy and submissions to the orthopedic device manufacturer’s, Arthrex, market leading shoulder arthroscopy portfolio. She is furthering her venture finance education through Venture Capital (VC) University, a joint initiative between Berkeley Law, Venture Forward and the NVCA, where she was awarded the Life Sciences Scholarship from leading VC firms. In her role spearheading business development of the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) spinout, Advanced Optronics, she pitched at the finals of Rice Business Plan Competition and secured nearly $50k in prizes. In the fall of 2022, she began mentoring more university spinouts from CMU and The University of Pittsburgh. Ruth holds a BS in Biochemistry from Bucknell University and MS from the University of Pittsburgh in Bioengineering and Medical Product Engineering.
