Instructor-Led Courses

OHR team members and learning professionals from across campus became DDI certified facilitators to gain access to DDI's off-the-shelf training programs. During piloting, select courses were tested with internal HR audiences as well as leaders from across campus, allowing for each course to be customized to fit CMU's unique culture and academic environment.

Currently, five courses are available for delivery upon request:

  • CoachingIn this course, leaders recognize the benefits of a growth mindset, and the insight tool measures their general orientation to how they view other’s potential to grow. They learn and practice a practical approach to coaching in the moment, in any situation.
  • Connecting with CommunciationsThis course highlights to leaders that engaging the “head”—the business outcome of the conversation—is just as critical as recognizing and addressing the “heart”—people’s feelings such as being respected or appreciated. Leaders will recognize the role of emotional intelligence in success as a leader as they develop foundational leadership skills that apply to the wide range of workplace situations they must handle.
  • Creating an Inclusive EnvironmentThis session moves past the numbers game of diverse representation to focus on leaning into and leveraging the unique abilities, perspectives, styles, and ideas of each person. Stereotypes and unconscious bias are explored as well as the differences in who we are, how we think, and what it means to an inclusive workplace.
  • Embracing ChangeThis course for individual contributors focuses on their role in implementing change in the workplace. Participants discover their Change IQ, learn about the phases of change that many people experience, and are introduced to best practices that will enable them to tackle and overcome the new business challenges of today and tomorrow.
  • Leading VirtuallyThis course teaches leaders how to overcome the challenges of time and distance to work as a cohesive team focused on achieving results.

The only cost is $125/participant for materials, making these courses another cost-effective option for leaders to invest in the development of the employees and supervisors on their teams. Other courses are available, but additional costs and development time will be required. Recommended class size for successful engagement is a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30.

If you are interested in scheduling a session for your team or you want to discuss other development options, please reach out to HR Learning to discuss.
